What Are Digital Dentures?

As the name suggests, digital dentures are a virtual denture model. Basically, instead of using manual impressions and sending design adjustments back and forth with a dental lab, the entire process is done with computer-aided design software and other advanced equipment. Using 360-degree images of your mouth, we’ll create a digital denture that our 3D printer will be able to use for fabrication.
How Are Digital Dentures Made?

First, we’ll use our Prime Scan imaging technology to capture a complete view of your mouth. We’ll assess measurements like the alignment of your bite to customize your dentures for a comfortable fit. All of the design information is recorded digitally, so once we’re confident in the “first draft” of your dentures, we’ll simply send it to the 3D printer and have it created in a matter of minutes.
Depending on the timing of your appointment, we may able to have you try on this “first draft” right away, or schedule a second visit for doing so. Adjustments to the fit and feel of your dentures can be made in-office, so don’t hesitate to let us know if it doesn’t sit quite right!
Benefits of Digital Dentures

One of the major benefits of digital dentures is that they significantly reduce the treatment timeline. Instead of taking months to fabricate a custom fit, it will take two weeks at most. Digital dentures can also be designed with a greater degree of detail and tend to be more comfortable and more aesthetically appealing than traditional dentures.
Another great advantage of a digital design process is that everything will be saved in our database. If there’s an accident and you need a replacement, we can simply pull up your virtual model and print a new set that will be exactly the same!
